The Desk
Who writes this, and what we hold it to.
Every review and guide on BeehiveKits is published by The BeehiveKits Hive Desk, our independent research team. We're the people verifying the listings and reading the extension research so you don't have to guess.
Our promise
- Would we put a colony in it? No kit gets ranked on its product photos. We verify what ships, check the dimensions and coatings, and judge whether what it does is worth what it costs you in dollars and colony risk. It's the whole reason we exist.
- Independence over payouts. We earn affiliate commissions on some links, but verdicts are set on the merits before money is considered. A brand can't buy a spot, a badge, or a softer sentence. See our disclosure.
- Real numbers, honest limits. Where a dimension or spec is the manufacturer's listed figure rather than one we verified ourselves, we say so. We're a research desk leaning on published extension science, not a bee lab, and we're straight about it.
- We keep it current. 136 reviews and guides and counting, re-checked as new gear ships and brands revise their designs.
How we work
The full methodology, from verified listings and dimension checks to cross-referenced extension research and the corrections policy, is laid out in detail on How We Research. It's the same process behind every verdict on this site.
